SC Spinal Cord Injury Association: April News

 DISCOVER THE LEADER IN YOU!

Are you interested in developing your leadership potential?

Serving your community by participating on boards, committees, and councils is a great way to share your input as a person with a disability.  Community Leadership Academy helps you develop your personal leadership style while giving you the tools and resources you need to be an effective leader in your community.

We are looking for at least eight people to join the group.  You'll get 18 hours of leadership skills through these sessions.

Session Topics:
• Community leadership
• Functions of a nonprofit board
• Government committees and councils
• Financial review
• Being the disability voice
• Networking

Sessions take place at:
Able South Carolina
720 Gracern Road, Suite 106
Columbia, SC 29210

Let's Go Back to Work!

We partner with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department to help those with spinal cord injuries go back to work.  Vocational Rehabilitation may be able to assist in finding resources to help you understand your options for becoming or staying employed.  Services range from assessment of eligibility, disability management, training to enhance work experiences and skills, and job search assistance.
Contact Angela at angela@scspinalcord.org today
and she will set you up with a referral to an SCI liaison.

Meeting-up with others may also be a great way to relieve stress.
