This new book, edited by Amy Hewitt and Susan O’Nell of the University of Minnesota’s Institute for Community Inclusion, puts evidence into action to address the critical issues affecting both providers supporting community living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the direct support workforce. Each chapter contains useful tips, provider profiles, DSP stories, best practices, and valuable resources for implementing change at organizational and systemic levels. Covered topics include using data, collaborating, recruiting and retaining staff, training competencies, credentialing, using technology, and supporting health and wellness for a sustainable workforce.
