SCATP is now accepting participants!
The SC Assistive Technology Program has been awarded a Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation High Impact Innovative Assistive Technology (HIIAT) grant. The SC Assistive Technology Program is now accepting participants in the Eye Gaze Communication Solutions project. For more information, contact Carol Page at the SC Assistive Technology Program at 803-935-5301 or carol.page@uscmed.sc.edu .
The Eye Gaze Communication Solutions project involves loaning eye gaze devices to underserved, low income South Carolinians with paralysis, spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, ALS and cerebral palsy. Eye gaze devices enable individuals to communicate, control their environment and gain greater independence using just their eyes.
“People with physical disabilities who are nonverbal can greatly enhance their lives with communication devices. They can communicate, at home, at work and in the community, use social media and phones, while controlling items in their environment such as the TV, thermostat, lights, and fans.” –Carol Page
