ABLE SC, Disability Perspective

Friend,

Disability is not a political issue—it’s a human issue. People with disabilities exist across all political affiliations, making disability rights and services inherently nonpartisan.

Yesterday’s federal funding freeze was not just alarming—it was devastating for the disability community. It created immediate uncertainty for individuals who rely on critical services, as well as for organizations like ours and countless others that provide essential support. For many, this disruption isn’t just an inconvenience; it can be a matter of life and death.

The Association for People with Disabilities has outlined the real-world impact of this funding freeze on the disability community. We urge you to review their analysis and recognize the urgency of this issue. This cannot happen again. Lives are at stake.
