Peer-to-Peer Support:
How does it help?

Overall, peer-to-peer studies have found that social support:
  • decreases morbidity and mortality rates
  • increases life expectancy
  • increases knowledge of a disease, illness, or injury
  • improves self-efficacy
  • improves self-reported health status and self-care skills, including medication adherence
  • reduces use of emergency services

What do you get?

  • New friends
  • Listening heart
  • Opportunity to learn from others
  • Opportunity to share your knowledge
  • No judgement
  • Better quality of life
Chance to talk with others in similar situations
