Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic

Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Organization: SC Assistive Technology Program - Center for Disability Resources
Location: 8301 Farrow Rd. Columbia, SC 29203
Cost: Free! Registration is required (maximum seating is 45).
Registration: There will be 2 group sessions and attendees will rotate between 5 vendors for small group trainings and to interact with communication devices.
About the Clinic: The SC Assistive Technology Program (SCATP) is hosting a AAC-Focused training day for individuals with communication differences their family members, and clinicians working AAC.
Participants will:
- Define different types of AAC.
- Compare different styles of communication device hardware and software options to help an individual communicate.
- Identify the best possible AAC options for a future trial and/or use for an individual depending on their needs.
Box lunches will be provided.
