NADD Welcomes New Board Members

We are honored to welcome three exceptional new leaders to our Board of Directors and look forward to the expertise, vision, and leadership they bring to advancing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs.

Please join us in congratulating our newest Board members:

Stacey Dixon, MHA, PhD
Jason Rechtman is a licensed professional counselor who joined NADD in 2023 and has quickly become a highly engaged contributor. He serves on the NADD Specialist Examiners Committee, contributed to certification exam development, and has delivered NADD trainings nationwide. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to equity, safety, and expanding NADD’s educational reach.
Tom Scheidemantel, MD
Stacey Dixon brings visionary leadership and clinical expertise to the Board. She founded and directs a pioneering supportive psychiatric housing program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.She served as keynote speaker at the TN-NADD Conference, delivering a presentation that reflected both clinical excellence and passionate advocacy.
Jason Rechtman, LPC, NADD-CC
Tom Scheidemantel is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and leads an IDD Psychiatry Program serving more than 1,200 patients. He has served as Co-Chair of the NADD Research Committee since 2017, helping to guide research review, awards, and policy development. His work includes co-authorship of a landmark Lancet Neurology clinical trial on cognition in adults with Down syndrome, and contributions to the Textbook of Community Psychiatry.  He was the 2024 recipient of NADD's  Loschen Award for Clinical Excellence.
