Parent Support Provider Training

hosted by Federation of Families of SCThis three-day training will assist you in becoming a trained parent support provider. Parent Support Providers (PSPs) are primary caregivers who have “lived experience” being actively involved in raising a child with emotional, developmental, behavioral, substance abuse or mental health concerns and have navigated systems and/or services to access treatment and necessary resources. PSPs have received specialized training to assist and empower other families raising children with similar experiences.  Scholarships are available to parents who meet the criteria for becoming a PSP.
In order to attend a training, you must:

  •  Be a parent/guardian with lived-experience raising a child with an emotional, behavior, mental health, and/or substance abuse issue.
  • Have a desire to become a certified parent support provider.
  •  Have a basic understanding of child-serving systems.
  • Be willing to share your advocacy experiences with us.
Volunteer as a PSP, potential paid positions are anticipated in the future.  To learn more or to register, please call Federation of Families of SC at (866)779-0402 or email Pheobe at pheobe.malloy@fedfamsc.org.
