Strides for Autism is Saturday!

The South Carolina Autism Society invites you to its annual signature fundraising and awareness walk, Strides for Autism!  The Upstate event will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Heritage Park in Simpsonville. Onsite Registration begins at 8:30 am, with the Event Kickoff at 9:00 am.
 
Register online today to make your wait shorter Saturday morning!
 
Strides for Autism events include a fun walk, resource fair, entertainment, food, and family fun activities.
 
Proceeds will stay in South Carolina and go toward family support, education, and advocacy.

Miniature Train Rides

Choo Choo! The Train will be running during Upstate Strides for Autism!

The Engineer has confirmed that the Heritage Park miniature train is scheduled to run during Upstate Strides for Autism on June 9th!

We will be selling tickets for your half-price ride! That’s right, each ride will be just $1 per person!

(SCAS makes no profit off the sale of the tickets. We are thankful to the City of Simpsonville for offering this discount to Strides participants!)


Field Games

Nick Schwartz and volunteers from the Saluda River District of Boy Scouts of America will be joining us for the second year with field games!  Come check out the cornhole, parachute, and other fun games!  Thank you Nick and the BSA!
 

Dance Demo

We are excited to welcome Dance Without Limits, who will be putting on an exhibition in front of the Corporate Shelter at 11:00 am.  Their school offers ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, acrobatics, preschool dance, and classes for students with special needs.  Thank you Dance Without Limits!

Kona Ice

We are all prepared if it's a warm day at Upstate Strides for Autism!  Kona Ice is coming out to sell frozen treats, with 15% of sales coming back to the South Carolina Autism Society! Thank you Kona Ice!

Honorary Chair - Mike Teachey

We are pleased to announce that Mike Teachey will serve as Honorary Chair for Upstate Strides for Autism!
 
Mike serves as the Lead Facilitator / Director for Greenville CAN.Greenvillecan is a coalition of self advocates, service providers, families, and community stakeholders working collaboratively to take actions that will strengthen our community and make it a better place to live for individuals with disabilities. Under Mike's leadership, Greenville CAN is truly making our community a better place for individuals with disabilities! Thank you Mike!
 
Music - Jim Hardin

Join us in welcoming musician Jim Hardin back to Upstate Strides for Autism for an encore performance of his song "Light It Up Blue", and more! Jim has been a friend of SCAS, sharing his musical talents with us at Strides for many years.  Thank you Jim!
 
Miss Laurens County - Ansley Seay

Joining us at Upstate Strides for Autism, Miss Laurens County, Ansley Seay! Miss Seay is a long-time friend of Strides and the autism community! We are excited to have her join us, just a few weeks before she competes for the Miss South Carolina crown!  Thank you Ansley!

Join our Resource Fair!  We would love to have your business, non-profit, agency, or organization join us at Upstate Strides for Autism!  Rates start at just $100.  We will provide a banquet table and 2 chairs for each exhibitor.  Please provide a children's activity to help draw families to your table!
