Participants will explore the functional aspects of eye tracking technology and best practices for getting started. A variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) language tools for the emergent communicator who uses eye gaze access will be considered. In addition, communication partner strategies to support successful participation and interaction will be discussed.

Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify two AAC language options or communication page sets that can be used with eye tracking technology
  • State two communication partner strategies for successful communication using gaze interaction technology
  • Identify three key technical features that make eye tracking technology successful for emergent communicators.
