Photographer and Family Applications for LOOK! 2023 are open. LOOK! is our annual Photography Exhibit open to families across the state. Professional photographers volunteer their time for private sessions with the children and young adults from families we serve. 

This inspiring exhibit will open at a venue in Columbia this summer. Photo sessions are being scheduled now through the end of April.

The Basics of the IEP

Join Dr. Susan Thomas, retired educator and a former Director of Special Education, who shares her experience and knowledge on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

SC parents/caregivers of a child with a disability or chronic health condition: Join us for an interactive workshop providing evidence-based training to give you skills to support another parent effectively and to help educate, inspire and empower parents and their children to live rich, fulfilling. Support Parents connect with other families to provide information and a safe listening environment. Complete the training to receive a certificate and additional opportunities for skill development and volunteer time.

SC Philharmonic Sensory Friendly Family Concert Feb 19 2023 at 3pm promotion

This SC Philharmonic concert is designed especially for persons with sensory sensitivities and their families. The inclusive concert gives audience members the ability to fully experience orchestral music without any of the constraints of a standard performance. 

During this 60 minute program, audience members are free to move about, dance, speak, sing or vocalize. Sensory-sensitive listeners and family members will delight in the discovery of orchestral experiences and  the world of classical music.

Our Parents as Teachers Program (P.A.T.) recently earned the highest designation Blue Ribbon Endorsement during the National Center Quality Endorsement & Improvement Process! Family Connection is a leader in the home visitation and parent education field--implementing the evidence-based Parents as Teachers model with fidelity and quality. 

Our P.A.T. program provides families with information on child development from the prenatal stage through age five. Congratulations to our P.A.T. team who look forward to continuing to serve families in York, Lancaster, Chester and Chesterfield counties!

Internship Opportunity 

Family Connection is seeking an intern to assist with marketing communications activities to raise awareness and participation in our programs, events, and fundraising campaigns. The spring internship will focus heavily on assisting with plans for our LOOK! Photography event. 

College students (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) studying Mass Communications, Public Relations, or related fields are encouraged to apply. The position is open immediately and will run through the end of the semester. 6-10 hours per week. This position is unpaid but may be available as a class credit.
