2023 was a year of firsts and landmarks for our organization. Here are some of the highlights from last year. We weren’t afraid to be bold. We took risks. We hope this inspires you to be a part of our 2024.

Activists and volunteers grew our Grassroots Advocacy Network to cover nearly every Congressional District in the country, and have helped establish our dynamic Working Groups as an authentic voice on critical issues facing our community.

Travelers of all kinds were a big part of our 2023 when we won historic gains to ensure safer and more accessible air travel—and United Spinal got a shout out from and a seat at the table with Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg.

Washington, DC leaders and staff gathered at the White House with the President to celebrate the accomplishments of our movement.
Wheelchair users at ROCH Our voices are more United than ever: check out our Advocacy Program 2023 Year in Review to get the full recap.
Parents took center stage when we launched our Rolling into Parenthood group.

Creatives changed the face of our community as part of our first ever Photo Contest.

United Spinal members, allies, and sponsors gathered at our inaugural StrongWheeled Together Conference to explore a new way of organizing and building alliances.

All of us bade farewell to visionary disability rights leader Judy Heumann—and vowed to honor her legacy through continuing her fight for liberation and equality.

Thank you all for a year to remember.
