Emerging Leaders Internship & Council Trainee Representative - Applications Now Open!

AUCD is excited to announce (3) openings for the AUCD Emerging Leaders Internship and (5) openings for Council Trainee Representatives. Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year are now open and close on August 4, 2023.

The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities Hosts ECHO Partner Launch Training 

August 7-8, 2023, Zoom

The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities will host a two-day virtual training specifically for UCEDD and LEND organizations interested in launching a Project ECHO network. The training will be held virtually via Zoom August 7-8, 2023 and will provide comprehensive knowledge about the ECHO model, including operations and best practices, for implementation.

Webcast Series: Infographics and Data Visualization as a Communications Tool

August 30, 2023, 3:00 pm - 4:00pm ET, Zoom

The funded Center on Knowledge Translation for Disability and Rehabilitation Research (KTDRR) will host a two part webcast series, Infographics and Data Visualization as a Communications Too. The series will focus on conceptualizing different communications tools to explain data when words and photos aren’t enough. Presenters will discuss understanding your audience, choosing a chart form, selecting typography and color, 508 compliance, and more. 

"Our Future Matters" National Online Dialogue: Shaping the Transition to Adulthood for Youth with Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and its federal agency partners invite you to participate in the "Our Future Matters: Informing the Federal Interagency Strategy" national online dialogue. This important virtual conversation aims to enhance policies and practices to facilitate a smooth transition to adulthood for youth with disabilities. Your input is crucial in identifying solutions that will improve policies and practices and help to ensure a smooth transition to adulthood for youth with disabilities. We encourage you to engage by submitting your ideas and commenting and voting on ideas contributed by others.

AIR-P Presents: Examining neurologic co-occurring neurologic conditions in autism across a lifespan

Tuesday, August 15, 2023, 4:00 - 5:00 pm ET

Dr. Rujuta Bhatt Wilson will share Neurology Node Updates from the AIR-P project. The webinar will include updates on intervention studies, examining neurologic conditions in genetic Neurodevelopmental syndromes, and examination of the prevalence of co-occurring neurologic and neurodegenerative diseases in autism in adulthood.

2023 AUCD Board Elections: Nominations Requested

AUCD is currently seeking nominations for the following positions to the AUCD Board of Directors, for a three-year term beginning in November 2023: Two (2) At-Large members. All nomination forms are due by COB on Friday, September 1 to Liz Schneider at eschneider@aucd.org.

Focus Group Opportunity on Children with Disabilities who have Multiple Identities

A research study being conducted at the University of Pittsburgh would like to talk with people who have knowledge about how to improve the health and well-being of the children and youth with disabilities who are most likely to be treated differently due to their race or income or for other reasons.  If you are willing to share your expertise, we would very much like to speak with you.
