Back-to-School

This August, we highlight back-to-school routines and socialization, services for independent living, long-term supports, school safety, and National Make-A-Will Month. Our Public Policy resources provide information on making appointments with members of Congress while they are home on August recess.

Did You Know: In the U.S., only 17% of the 7.37 million adults with IDD receive publicly funded residential support. This month, the Autism Society highlights resources and supports focused on the transition to independent living in the Autism community.

National Make-A-Will Month

August is National Make-A-Will Month. To help you begin future planning for your loved ones, the Autism Society of America has partnered with FreeWill: a free online resource that guides you through the process of creating your legal will in 20 minutes. By creating your will this month, you are creating a way to protect your loved ones while supporting the future of the Autism Society.
